MACAM – Modern And Contemporary Art Museum
The first contemporary art museum in Lebanon
It displays a permanent exhibition of 350 sculptures and installations by 115 artists. The museum is placed on a large factory compound transformed into a vibrant cultural hub, offering exhibitions, art competitions, creative workshops, educational tours for children and a rich library and archive on Lebanese art history.
Mar Charbel Sanctuary
A pine-dotted up-winding path leads to the Sanctuary of Mar Charbel.
The Mazar is overlooking the museum and its basic structure was built in the sixties of last century by the workers of the former factories for Lebanon’s most beloved Saint.
MACAM and ALITA Development s.a.r.l are looking for sponsors to complete the Sanctuary.
Adonis Cave
The cave lies hidden on the cliff above the scenic Adonis Valley and the ancient pilgrim path from Byblos to the temple of Astarte in Afqa.
This cave, naturally formed through the ages, is about 300 square meters in size, with a 25-meter-wide facade. Accessible by an old trodden stairway, the cave offers a fabulous view.
